Weekend getaway
Murray Bridge Marina Caravan Park
This was our second trip in our motorhome. We left home on June 12, 2020 and returned home on June 15, 2020.
Having packed the motorhome the night before we were on our way to Murray Bridge at 8.15am.
After an uneventful drive we arrived at the Murray Bridge Marina Caravan Park at around 12.30pm.
We proceeded to book in and drove onto our designated site and setup the motorhome.
We had purchased a 3×3 metre Gazebo and Tent Insert from Big W earlier in the week which we then set up for the weekend. The gazebo provided shelter and cover that we would not otherwise have had.
For tea we had Pumpkin Soup with a crusty piece of bread.
On Saturday morning we had a bacon and egg muffin. Around 9.30am we went for a drive to Mount Barker. This was our first visit and we were not that impressed with Mount Barker. We then returned to the Caravan park for a late lunch.
We then decided to go to Tailem Bend and have a look at The Bend Motorsports Park. We were surprised to be able to enter the reception area of the motel and view the cars that were on display in the foyer area. We then entered the lift to go to the Skydeck to view the motorcycles practising on the racetrack. Again, we were surprised that we could watch this practice.
On our way back to the Caravan Park we bough takeaway yiros for tea.
Sunday morning we had pancakes for breakfast. Around 11.30am my father-in-law and son came to visit. They stayed a few hours and we had a BBQ for lunch. My son took his drone out and flew over the Caravan Park for 15 minutes or so taking a video.
Once they left we took down the Gazebo and stowed it away whilst it was still dry.
Overnight was extremely cold and we decided that our priority would be to get a diesel heater installed as soon as possible. By 10.30am we had packed up and were on our way back home.
We were back home around 2.00pm.
Our accommodation costs were $108.00 for three nights.
