Let’s Raid The Food Bowl

Mildura

Over the weekend we attended The “Let’s Raid The Food Bowl” geocaching event at Mildura.

We had dinner at the Gateway Tavern. The above photo was taken with my iPhone as geocachers starting arriving at the dinner venue.

The following is a list of geocaches that we found over the weekend.

Thankfully we had two heads working out the maths to solve the location of GZ.
If only we’d known where GZ was as it could have saved us a round trip as the previous cache we found was Snake Gully (GC1K462).

Being a new cache we resorted to entering the co-ords manually, and as you do, entered one of the co-ords incorrectly. At least we enjoyed the walk past and back to the cache. We almost cam a cropper having driven up the mound to quickly realise the track had been blocked for through access. We believe more recent cachers have driven further towards the cache as there are obvious track trails following the recent rain.

Th ‘AdrianMc Cache Maintenance Service’ came to the rescue.
The previous replacement cache has met the same fate as the original.
Hopefully there are now enough previous caches in place so as to save the current replacement cache from the same fate as those placed beforehand.
Thanks for the cache The Silver Snitch!

After confirming that the ‘Freddo Cache Maintenance Service’ was otherwise indisposed, the ‘Jardry Cache Maintenance Service’ offered its assistance.
Arriving at GZ was surprised to find not ONE but TWO replacement caches. Combined the contents of thee two caches and replaced. Took a new set of co-ordinates which will be forwarded to the cache owner to revise the questions for the answer to find GZ.
Thanks for the cache o’cholio!
